I have a tip off about a large donkey stallion standing at stud!
I quote the PM I had about him (I'll omit the telephone number, give me a shout if you want it!!)
Have just spoken to Yvonne and big donkey is at open stud if you're interested. He has a cracking temperament and has been fertile up to now although he does need time to think about it; no use expecting to walk a mare in then! Anyway, her number is ************ and they're based about 6 miles from Stafford so very easy off the M6. I think they also have one for sale!!
Hmm! Nice! I wonder if it is the one the man on The Shootist Forum bred.
There was a woman up that way who bought a pair of Andalusian types from Appleby I think so maybe its her Stallion. Not all Jack Donkeys will breed with a Mare so its worth knowing where one is

Moon took part in a breed parade fundraising event earlier this week (most interesting, she was in season, hugely wound up by all the bawling stallions about the place, and trying to lead her round the arena whilst two icelandic horses were tolting round the outside was entertaining to say the least!) and several people came to chat to me afterwards about mules, including one whose friend is looking for a donkey stallion to use on a decent sized mare.
Laura, I'll be after that number from you I suspect!!!
Just re read my post! I was of courserefering to the mule foal in my first sentance Funny Elkay, the only one of my group that acted in season was my old Hinny Sarah-lee and she was the biggest flirt in Christendom (Used to drive Malaga crazy as well as Harvey my mini donk stallion )

First off, Yes I am the man from the Shootists and that is my mare and mule.
The Jack's name is Pedro, but he's never been anywhere near Apelby.
As you've already been told he's got a perfect temperament, but he's not a fast worker when it comes to covering mares.
The owner of the Jack does have several youngstock including a two year old Molly and two yearlings, one of each sex.
Boot.
P.S.
I'd be interested to know how you came by the photograph.
Great you've joined.Looking foreward to progress pictures of your young girl.
Daves in Shropshire and I hear he's got a big Poiteau cross now (Still trying to narrow the jack down )

Hi Boot, I was PM'd the photo of your mule and the contact details for the donk by a lady called Pat who breeds horses and is a friend of Yvonnes. It is pretty much common knowledge that I was hunting for big donkey stallions, so I think when she heard and saw about your mule she knew I'd be interested!!
Are you OK with the photo being on here? If not its no problem at all to remove it. Its an absolutely cracking foal, I'd love to see some more photos.
I'd heard he liked to "chat up" his girls too, bless, unlike my perverts of stallions who are really not fussy!
I don't have a problem with the picture being on here at all, I was just curious as to where it had come from. I did think it looked like Pat's husband, but it's not that clear.
Yvonne has several stallions too, so we're well aware of the difference in mating, you need to keep the afternoon free and take some sandwiches.
I do know Dave, but not well, he's more a friend of a friend.
