As I know many of you drive can someone answer my question...

"What would be the definition of an exercise cart, with regards to showing"

Thanks (more questions to follow, just starting with a nice easy one for you!!!)

A bennington, a driving trials vehicle, one on motorbike tyres but not one with car tyres. Gives you a lot to choose from.

Except it must have a groom so they can be thrown out or stand uselessly in the center if the equine takes off!

So (ignore my ignorance) would something like this be OK?

(photo taken from dragon driving, not my cart, just needed an example!)

OK next question - correct turnout for driver?

And while I have you here - can you suggest any good trainers/showing livery types in Scotland?

yep, that counts as an exercise vehicle!
turnout for drivers can be variable, normal to be in same sort as dress as vehicle, so suitable for the type of use of vehicle, and the whip and groom should be in similar clothing and both looking smart!
cant help re trainers im afraid! :D
