mule weekend was great, met new people & mules, also the old stalwart people (you know who you are!) BBQ food two nights running thanks to PAUL - serving meat with wit . Muriel - his Ardennes mule could easily perform as a Drum Mule for the Queen. Everyone standing was allocated an animal for the Parade. 6 mules paired up for the Quadrille. Very interesting sissors! Then a well thought out and topical Handy mule course, which became Handy dog. With recycle your litter (mules bemused) put up a windmill in the windfarm ( too much for Mortimer) fish the ducks from the paddle pool, weave through the bean poles - with bin bag flags and so on. Alexander had a blast and now wants his own mule.

That's not Mortimer - he isn't ridden now after spooking and bucking Helen off on the road. It's MYRTLE!! ("out of a shetland" ex-endurance mule) she's the one Alex is leading too.
I'll put one on of Betty the warmblood next...

So I guess old habits die hard..
Were they from the same place or same breeding?

Yes I guess they do. It is such a shame when the history is unknown as you really don't know what they have had to put up with before. It is very hard as you can never really get to the bottom of the problem. But they are good lawn mowers, hedge trimmers and very lovely to look at.
