I Ordered the OH's Christmas present back in November - it was brilliant, took a lot of hunting out and I was very pleased with it..... Oh and it never arrived. B*gger!
So last Thursday I panic shopped - bought him a lovely pair of polo/cowboy boots - totally unique and heavily discounted, Oh and made in his favorite leather.....
Re the hardiness of mules...... It's a lie, I swear it's a lie. Or have I got the only mule in history that ISN'T hardy???? She gets rub rugs at the drop of a hat, but without her jim-jams on is pathetically cold. She stands immobile in mud but will play in the arena turned out with her boyfriend Paco. She's pathetic.
It is however very nice going to see her several times a week Re shopping.... blimey Laura if you think you have sinned... I am rather dreading this months credit card bill. I may have been a bit naughty. But they're not real Dubarrys (just the Dublin copies) and they were reduced to £71 from £99!
Oh yes, but the big news for forum... Moon's got a proper horse mane!!!! It stays down!!! OK, it only stays down for about 15 minutes after her rug-with-neck comes off but it is a start. The lack of a forelock is, however, of some concern. Her tail is better than Jack's no though.

Well his first pair of polo boots were mule and they are just lovely leather - they have also lasted ten years, which is unheard of. Mark goes through boots in about six months and the only reason the originals are now fairly knackered is that they have been re-soled so often they are a bit small!!
To look at (and despite a boot shopping "problem" my self, I'm no expert) they don't seem to have any lining - I think (and sorry this is a little grim) the inside of mule is also the inside of boot.
Treacle is being very sweet to Mark - all smiles and happiness so that she's not made into boots!
Elkay - QH hide I'm sure is useless, if that mare of ours is anything to go by - one fly bite and it practically rolls over and dies. (Still love that horse though!!!)
Treacle has a good mane too - but the clippers will be out soon! I am cultivating a very fine bushy tail though!
