Hello everyone!
My name is Tina and I live with my 12 year old son and our dogs and cat on a farm in Devon. I have planned for a long time to breed Baudet du poitous in order to help save them from extinction but have still not managed to start as the prices for A-registered once are so expensive!
I also want to set up a Trekking company. My plan was actuall to use donkeys but I have just "discovered" mules. I will list a few questions about them later in different sections of the forum.
Ah, and i am the founder of the new donkeys and mule website www.DonkeysWorldwide.com. If anyone (private, sanctuary/rescue or equine business) is interested in joining they are very welcome. It's for free!
And last but not least, I am German, living in England since 1994, but make still plenty of mistakes such as speling etc. So please forgive me in advance when things sound a little bit odd sometimes ..
Hope to make many friends and find advice,
Take care, Tina

Hi Tina,
Welcome to the forum - what a great website, very slick, do you design websites professionally?
Your English and spelling look fantastic to me.
Must dash (in the middle of baking a cake that has already been in twice as long as it should have been and is still soggy in the middle - argghhhh!!!)
Hi Tina, spelling not a problem..I can't spell and I was born here!...add to that a keyboard with half the letters rubbed off and two keys missing and ,get the picture!? With everyone tryig to save the Poitou from extinction I should think its pretty safe! Now the Andalusian...that's another matter(Breeds nicer mules too ) My Hinny Sarah-lee who is now retired with The Horse Trust, spent three years trekking around Weston Supa Mare. Hope you find plenty of info have you seen the Hamerton Studs Donkeys? They have coloured Mammoths love your signniture by the way

Hi Jinglejoys! I do feel with you - have a laptop similar to yours . Yes, I do know about Hamertons. They breed the Spotted Mammoth. I personally like donkeys/mules with longer hair, doesn't have to be as long as Poitous though. Do you really think we have now enough Poitou breeders in the country? The Andlucian Giants I really like. I don't know whether you have seen my website but I am using a photo (Homepage) from an American breeder who is apparently breeding Poitous with standard donkeys but they could also be Spotted ones? I love their look, their colour and their long fur.
I am also interested in buing some Rescue mules from France (or from anywhere else). My problem is that eventhough I can ride a horse i need animals who have been already broken in (is this correct to say?), as i would dare doing this mself. By the way, do you mean your Hinny worked for a trekking company or did you do the trekking yourself? Sorry, many questions. Hope you have got the time to answer...
Tina P.S. My signature is a (home made) translation from German. I found so many good saing in German but can't find anything short and precise in English. Have asked in my Forum for suggestions but have not heard anything back yet...

I like long hair in Donkeys too my friend Claire Harper has two standards, one shorthaired and one longhaired O wonder if there's a longhaired horse?...longhaired mules! No it wasn't me that trekked Sarah-lee it was her previous owner There is a forum that occasionally has mules on the fattenig farms in France but the riding ones are rare...you could try Albie in Spain he knows where most of the mules are in Malaga and their background. I joined your forum annd see you also have an N.I. what breeding is yours? Mines from Stormlake....not the brightest kid on the block but we love her!

Cake was revolting, don't know what went wrong, first time ever my little Be-Ro cookbook has let me down!!!
I think (JJ correct me if I'm wrong) Abie has a few user names on here and is most recently using "mulemanspain"
Could he be by any chance the person who also sells Mules and has the most funny, informative and eccentric introduction to his website? Will check the website in a minute and post the link (IF I find it though...) TIna
