New Specialized Saddle,on mule tree for sale.
It is a beautifull saddle ,chestnut leather with a hunter green seat, western skirt and girthing but no horn.Very comfortable, unfortunately will not stay in place on the mule it was bought for.More about this saddle on earlier posting from feb.08,we were so excited about the whole concept/adjustability etc.but Betty is so croup high it simply will not work. The fit of the tree is fine but as soon as the saddle is girthed on or weight placed into it it goes forward.
I have not been able to figure how to put pictures onto this website[yet],anybody potentially interested in this saddle contact me please and I can send a picture, also there is lots of information on Specialized Saddles on the internet.

Sadly I've just handed over the cash for Treacle's new saddle to be made, so I'm hoping that I will be sorted out for 2009 with a saddle and a mule and a bit of enthusiasm to get on and get out!
If you want to email me a few photos of the saddle I can post them on here for you? What sort of price were you thinking for it?
ETA - you don't think your mule will level out if she's just a 5yo? Treacle is definitely still growing.
http://specializedsaddles.com/new/ This is the site for those still looking Nice saddle especially with a seat in BMS colour green. You don't get a chance of a saddle with mule bars in this country very often

I've also got a saddle to sell - well actually two - the Lamicell synthetic western bought for Moon before she was backed that didn't fit by the time she was backed (retails £450 in UK but I'd take £200 to get rid of it!) used in total for about half an hour; and my "saddle of a lifetime" handmade on Anglesey absolutely top notch Celtic Trailmaster lovely looking lightweight western trail saddle . Which doesn't fit Moon or Jack so is sitting wasted. Cost £1600+ and I might be persuaded to part with it for £1000. If not it stays it's a lovely ornament! Both Semi-QH bars.
Dear "Elkay",
Sorry I have still not managed to navigate this site too well,so Iam not sure how to e-mail directly.
As to your question of how much we would like for our mulesaddle,we paid £1380 for it,this is after it has been refitted with the double rigging straps, mohair western girth and including a matching breastcollar.
Looking at David Kaden`s website, this package would cost just under 2000 dollars in the States now,as the exchange rate has got worse and plus shipping/tax and a prospective buyer would probably have to go through the agent Judith Stirling in Wales .
At a guess, this saddle would be near the same in pounds if purchased now.
I am happy to let the saddle go for around £1200 .
The other thing is that we would be happy for anybody interested in the saddle to try it if insured postage is refunded if the saddle is returned.
Anybody interested please contact me on andritter@hotmail.co.uk and I can e-mail pictures-unless somebody can explain to me how to post pics on this website which would be nice,I could also send mule pics..

Email me any photos you have to mulesuk@runhorse.com and I'll post the photos for you. No problem at all.
As far as emailing Elkay - under her posts is there a little button that says "email" - try that. (I don't know if you see what I see, if that makes sense!!!)
Ooo that is a very nice saddle. Alas I am going to have to shift a couple of the saddles I already have surplus before buying more. I think I'm going to take a fairly big hit on the Lamicell.... a £450 saddle and still no interest on ebay with a £150 starting price. I have a horrid feeling that I may need to list it at 99p starting bid to shift it, but I am investigating swapping it for a holiday at the stables in Cyprus I ride at on holiday - the lady there was saying how she needs more western saddles and several of their horses are Arab crosses that would probably find the Lamicell a good fit.
The Lamicell was one of the ones I looked at when I was riding Sarah-lee.It's a nice saddle but then I got my trooper out of Henley market for £18 and it did such a good job that I stopped looking for another for a while.
