Yesterday my husband was literally 'taken out' with a swift left hook from a back hoof... Well he had presumed to stroke her with out her permission in the field and on top of that started pulling at her 'donkey' hairs that had not yet moulted off amoungst the shiny bits enquiring to if they were going to disappear... He obviously thought he was standing outside the kick zone but having been warned about her 360 degree coverage he obviously felt i was exaggerating.... LOL
Today however we had a fab day of longlining with someone who helped me... i am now making a point of getting each person to do a little introductory groundwork or 'getting to know her session' before we do anything that may take her out of her comfort zone or involve a stranger interferring with her bodyparts.....
She has also started her introduction to umbrellas and my husband decided to do a bit of metal detecting in her field.. and she after a while of following him around re digging the holes he had covered up decided he was ok and allowed him to scratch her bottom..... before running off to chase a cat that had dared to come into the paddock... LOL...
I confess that i am finding her such fun to be around.. i love her fiesty character and her quick witted ness and the fact that she does not suffer stupid people... around her... and she is only 2!!!! What is she going to be like when she has matured and got more wisdom....
I just hope she grows......
Although i am gonna have to curb that ninja thing a little.... maybe i can clicker train that 'attack' 'fight' instinct so that we can have it on command.....
First time I met Blue she double barrelled a handler in the market(Needless to say he deserved it...who in their right minds walks up behid a strange mule and slaps it on the rump!)
She swings round to buck out at me occasioally when excited but is very careful to miss
