Post subject: Saddles & Tack By Internet!
PostPosted: Tue Apr 15, 2008 5:22 pm
I'm fitting new Western Saddles for 2 students tomorrow, and I'm really impressed with the prices, plus the fact that although they are basically horse saddles the tree's are reasonably flat making fitting to a mule much easier. www.a-alvarez.com is the company. I have used them for years. I think this will also satisfy Jenny's need to see Spanish Tack! My students have bought the Arizona Model! Only around 240 GBPounds I think! The pound goes a long way with euros these days!

I think you'll be impressed by the range of books to!

Yes the site is in Spanish, but just scroll down and click the left hand side selection bar! I am always happy to translate for anyone! Albert.

Tracy doesn't put enough about that mule in her Newsletter!!!! :D
I've got an old hard copy of that catalogue that Albie sent me.Trouble with looking on line if you don't understand the lingo is you've got to find the right page first!
I have enough trouble with the Hot'n'tot site as I call it but I have a hard copy version of that too

O.K. I've got the a-Alvarez catalogue and clicked on the horse picture....now where do I go to look at the saddles please? :)

What have I come in to?

When someone told me "you just cannot mix mule and horse people" I laughed! but in the laats 3 years almost like one of thos bible people it seems to be true! There are folks here trying to put straight a bloke who is the most genuinly clued in person you could meet! He is the least opinionated man you could meet as well. he just knows stuff and is honest! no frils no balony!! Mules are his life! He sleeps and breaths them ask his family! Ask anyone in a dozen countriedss where he gives his time and knowledge free so poor people can look after their animals better! This man never charges a penny and if the bloomin UN projects give him respect certain people oughht to think twice before reading some articlal at him like he was their student in junior school! Ok so he is old, so what, if you wanna get clever get ols and wise! I gave him a mule that the vet told me should be put down! It very near killed my neighbor and he was just one! last I heard that mule was taking children for rides cos Albert understands mules! Just cos you have rideden horses for a few years dont make you an expert on mules, or an Animal Psycologist! Get a grip, keep your limited experience to your self and respect those who know more! Horse people on mule sites SUCK! I wont be back! Your all dressage!

Right getamule - I'll say this once and only once.....

I am happy to run this forum and keep it moderated daily BUT I have huge demands on my time and I do not need hassle in any way shape or form. On this forum people will play nicely or not at all!

To be honest if this is "mule people" then I think there are several of us happy to be "horse people with one mule"

Oh dear! Lets calm down a bit shall we I really don't know what bought this on.I don't think the Europeans understand how impossible it is to get a good riding mule over here.We are not lucky enougfh to pop down to the local dealer or farmer and get another if things go wrong which is why we are so determined to get it right first time, and why we go outside the country to get our animals and research into tack so carefully.
I got Malaga and I love him dearly but I know I have frustrated Albie sometimes by my slowness and yes,I did go to a horse trainer who cocked it up but it was the best I thought I could find and if there had been a mule trainer in this country I'd've used them but there isn't.
I'm now DIY using Parellie.I have always been told "Green on Green =Black and Blue" which doesn't boost your confidence much! I live on my own in a fairly isolated spot and people think I'm mad anyway  but I am aware that if something went wrong..................!
Working at my own speed and confidence level is helping me and Albie understands that and gives me lots of tips and back ups so lets all just get on together and enjoy our mules. :D
