Hiya,
I felt really mean folding up Moon's ears into a standard horse bridle (although she doesn't mind, in fact the more you fiddle with her ears the better) so I imported a bridle with a clip-over headpiece.
It was only labelled as "standard" but it is far to big for her and she isnt small (just over 15 hands)... bit between her incisors when put on the highest holes.
Anyone know anyone with either
a) a bloody big mule or
b) a headshy/ear shy large horse?!

Ah but she has a delicate little head!!
You forgot the third option...
Little mule with very big head - Treacle probably fits into that catagory but I can't get into the tack room for cr*p, so I better have a clear out first!!!
No..it's just that Mules have bigger brains than short ears so they need a bigger browband!
If only I could get through to Susannah Powel I bet it would be useful for her Shire crosses-----Helen are you there? You've got a foal from her can you pass the message on?

I havent got a mule although I really would love one which is how I found this forum! But I have got a terribly big horse with terribly big ears who is terribly earshy.
Not because we are horrid to him but because he gets ear plaques (caused by allergy to blackfly bites) and they make it very painful for his ears to be bent at all - which means he doesnt like them touched at all!
I dont suppose the bridle is still available but if it is could I buy it from you?? Ive been looking for something like it for ages without success! He is 17hh and built like a public toilet so if it is too big for yours it might work for him!
BTW his name is Marcus and he is IDxTB (mostly ID donk!)
I have been in touch with Linda and hurrah am having muley bridle for non-muley ear shy giant IDxTB chappie!
Have just REchecked with OH who says definitively no he would not like me to get a mule since Ive got 2 horses already - the IDxTB and a lovely orange Haflinger girlie . But I'm going to keep working on him.....)) maybe I can say it can work on the smallholding!!
